  1. I don't think spelling is an issue as to whether or not you should homeschool.  You can learn to spell right along with your child!

My advice would be to first check out your state's homeschooling laws.

The next step is to think about your child's learning style.  This is really important when homeschooling.  You need to teach to your child's strengths.

Next, become familiar with different homeschooling methods.  You do not have to teach the same way schools teach.

Have fun with your children.  Get involved in a support group.  Go on field trips and other activities.  Here's some information on homeschooling support:

I also think it's important to have as much factual information about homeschooling so you will feel good about your decision.  This would be a good place to start:

    Good luck!

  2. Join a home education group, there should be one near where you live. Get as many packs and information as possible, i think you can get them from your LEA. And above all let them have fun - introduce them to lots of extra-curricular activities and clubs where they can meet as many people as possible and children of their own age as well as adults. Good luck!

  3. Any advice for a married woman who wishes to home school her children?

  4. Since this is your first activity on Y!A, I would recommend you use the "check spelling" feature before posting.

    Your sentence should read,

"Any advice for a married woman ready to homeschool her children?"

So first, I would brush up on spelling.

Secondly, there is a lot of good info here if you read back through the archives.  You'll first need to know the laws for HS'ing in your state.  Then you'll need to know your children's learning styles, and what type of HS'ing you want to do.

    Get your state laws here:

    http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/default.as...

You can find many books about HS'ing in the public library.  You can also read a lot of information online.

  5. I would myself first become literate, madame.

  6. I would really think hard about that one.

I think everything has good and bad and I would talk to my children about it before I really put their education at hand.

if homeschooling doesn't seem to be the right think to do. move them to a better school.
