  1. I am a junior Olympian I'm twelve, yeah rotate your body and roll your shoulders & work on your flutter kick

im a breast stroker i go at 37 for a 50. So on your turn when you hit the flags count to 7 (strokes) and then touch the wall and do like a breastsroke flipturn and turn and good underwater pull/ grab the water

and if u think i am not qualified to answer it my aunt is Natalie Couglin.

  2. back was always my weakness. The most advice I ever got on it was how was your pull? Make sure you are doing that S shaped pull. Also, raise your head and chin up slightly. Your head may be too submerged which can slow you down. Also kick. That was my biggest problem. When I was a kid I would get foot cramps when I would do back kick, so it kind of plagued me as I got older. Also, do you sink? If you do rememeber to keep your torso and hips up too. It is a complicated one, but you will get better. When turning on my IM I wouldnt do a flip from back to breast either which seemed to save me a little bit of time just to touch and go instead of going straight into my underwater pull from a back flip. Hope that helps.

  3. Try to keep your neck up. If your head goes below the water it will cause you to sink. Also try to kick/move your legs faster. When you push off the wall, do dolphin kick really hard and really fast. It will get you farther! Try to also rotate your shoulders when you swim.. dont rotate your head..only your shoulders! good luck!

  4. flex your butt to keep your legs up and put your head back. try and google Breast to back flip turn to see what it looks like i cant describe it well enough for you to do it but it's kinda like a backflip. and dig your shoulders down into the water when you pull, dont just use your arms, use your whole body! the only thing that shouldnt move is your head.

  5. After finishing breatstroke touch with both hands and bring your feet up and push off on your back UNDERWATER and dolphine kick untill you reach the surface. You should get at least past the backstroke flags before you surface.

No one can be good at every stroke.I did the IM and lapped people with my butterfly, but  when it came time for breaststroke I got lapped...

Also to make sure to do a "s" motion when pulling your arms underwater, just like in freestyle.Dont let your arm sit there by your side.Your arms should be constantly going.Soon as one arm goes in the other is already almost entering the water.

  6. um... well I won state in backstroke 6 years in a row... so I think i might be able to help.  First I need to know what the problem is, but most people's is a stiff back. You need to rotate your shoulders from side to side. That should make you body rool from the left to the right vice versa.  Here are a couple of pictures to explain what I mean. go to

that might help you a lot... send me a message if you need somemore help!

  7. keep your hips up to prevent your legs from sinking. keep your chin up and your head high. cup your hands and bend your arms to pull as much water as you can on each stroke to go faster. when you get to the wall,  dive under kind of  on your back and butterfly kick to the wall. grab that with one hand and quickly turn on one side. this works for me!!!
