Any bellwork ideas for second grade? ?

This is my second year, and what I did last year for bellwork didn't work out. What do you do that works?

You could make up hand writing books and have them practice their printing.  Depending on your curriculum that you use there is usually a grammar section and sentences that need to be corrected so each day the kids could correct 2 sentences in a writing journal.  You could have review math facts on the board as well.
