Any big break in Germany now??

my friend told me

there's a big break in Germany for one week now

anybody knows the name of the break please?

  1. that not quite right...we have 'winterferien' right now they take place every year but the time changes so u can have the first 2 weeks of february ur break or the last 2 of january, depending on your state.

    'frühlingsferien' is something different, they are about eastern but not in every state (f.e. Bavaria or Saxonia)


  2. i think your thinking of pfingstens.........i dont know what its celebrated for though....or it could of been fashings....

  4. The winterferien already have been, there where 2 days off for "Fasching", Rosemonday and Faschingtuesday  (so if you count the week-end, it was almost a week), Spring break will not start until beginning of March (depending in which area you live), other than that no vacations right now

  5. That would be "Winterferien" or in some regions "Frühjahrsferien",

    but not all regions in Germany have that break regularly.

    In most areas this break only takes place every second year, depending on the federal state.
