Question:

Any bird experts out there?

Last night loads of birds were flying high in the sky for as far as the eye could see (Midlands, uk).

I know nothing about birds, but I would love to know what kind they were, and why they were doing this (they hung around with this random flying for over half an hour).

They didn`t fly in a flock - they kept individual, very high up too. Energetic, graceful fliers.

As far as I could see they looked light grey underneath, with quite a narrow longish wing span, with maybe a slightly different colour on the tips of their wings. They looked like young birds. Occasionally a flock of a different kind of bird swooshed among them. What was going on and what kind of bird were they? Any ideas?

  1. if you have any questions about birds you can email me at reecerocks@rocketmail.com

  2. They were probably starlings they do this prior to roosting. They seem to weave through each other?

  3. Hi! Umm. Sound Like Greater White-Fronted Geese. Depends on How big or small they were. Graceful? Probably not a starling.

    Hhmmm.

If They Were Geese then they were migrating from the south or something.

    Hope I Could've helped
