Any body have any tips on how to be a faster runner?

i'm 6th best in my grade and need tips for sprinting and endurance.

  2. Get your base mileage in for endurance training.  I don't know how old you are but if you are in high school start with 2 miles and work your way up to 6.

    As for sprinting, do drills and lots of them.  You can do drills for 50 meters and then back again.  This would include butt kicks, high knees, etc.  Ladders are also great.  A ladder is when you run intervals based on the race you run.  If you are a 400 runner, you should be doing 200, 400, 600, 800 and then back down.  This will give you endurance and speed.  

    Last but not least, refine your form.  Have strong arm movements that move straight back smoothly but quickly and run on the balls of your feet.

  4. Practice sprinting. It's the only way.

    Start in a kneeling position, much like professional runners. Have somone clock you, or clock yourself, but just do it over and over.

    The only way to get better at running of any kind is to run.
