  1. pour a can of pepsi or coke into a take out cup from McD's or Wendy's or somewhere like that, then let it sit for a few days (preferable on a plate or dish of some sort to protect your furniture) and watch how it eats away at the bottom of the cup. Now imagine what it is doing to your stomach everytime you drink it!!!! (16 teaspoons of sugar per 350mL can! and lots of acid) Try it, it works

  2. tell ur dad to stop buyin it... the same thing happened to me but wen i told ma mom not to buy pop anymore, she stopped and now its been like 2 months since i last drank pop.

  3. how about trying an alternative. everytime you find yourself reaching for the pop bottle have a glass of water instead or some juice or coolaid. Another good way is to chew some strong gum that'll make the pop taste nasty.

  4. ask your dad to stop buying it and slowly get yourself off it

    go three days without it

    then a week

    and so on

  5. I used to drink a ton of diet Coke and I never thought I would be able to give it up. I didn't make a conscious effort to, if I am honest, but we just started buying flavoured fizzy natural water and it wasn't long before I preferred the taste. I rarely drink it now and when I do, it tastes artificial and sweet (even the no sugar versions).

  6. Stop buying it at the store...

  7. Find something else you like to drink and keep plenty of it! Try keeping a variety of juices, crystal light, iced tea, lemonade, flavored water, etc etc. If there's variety you might want to try something new rather than sticking to your pop. (I love that you call it pop- I do, too!)

It's best to limit yourself to 3 a day, then 2, then 1... if you wish go down to 5 a week, then 3 a week, then 1 week, and then cut it out all together. I stopped "Cold Turkey" (all at once) for Lent... planned on drinking it again, but it made me sick to my stomach. The carbonation.... yuck! You can try "Cold Turkey" if you wish, but I think cutting it little by little offers you more control- you won't burst at your first opportunity. It's not HORRIBLE to have a soda every once in a while. If you really feel the urge, satisfy it. If you hold off for too long you'll ruin what you started because you'll want to drink even more to "make up for lost time."

    Good luck.

  8. I quit drinking it a while ago. I would usually have soda everyday. But to stop what i did was i only drank it on Sundays when i would go to dinner with my family. I then i switched to diet. And slowly cut back. And now i drink like sugar free lemonade and stuff like that. I replaced it with healthier alternatives

  9. There are a few things you can do.

Take a look at how much you drink a day and keep track

As a few people have recommended start but cutting down the number you consume each day  by 1-2 servings/week.

Replace it with something you like.   If you like the bubbles try club soda, sparkling water with flavouring like, lemon or fruit puree (just a little for taste).  Or replace with juice (which is still full of sugar but better than pop ) or plain water with flavouring.

I'm not keen on the Crystal Lite packs myself because I don't see much difference in them than Kool- Aid.  But if that helps try it.

    Good Luck

  10. I had a serious Diet Pepsi "problem".  I liked the caffeine but the problem was with the Aspartame (the fake sweeter).   It may me hungry, I ate and gained weight.  Anyway, what I did was start drinking Iced Green Tea.  I bought some flavored Green Tea, a plastic pitcher, and some Splenda.  Boiled water, put tea bags and about 3 tablespoons of Splenda in the pitcher, and poured the water over it.  Done, let it sit, and when it cooled put it in the fridge.  So now everytime I crave my soda fix, I go for the Green Tea instead.  It is good for you, still gives you a buzz and no aspartame.  This is how I quit the soda fix.

PS. If you like Sugar, than use that instead of Splenda.

  11. just start drinking water and that will help you to stop drinking pop

  12. You should not quit all at once you just have to minimize your habit. Here is what you should do. If you drink a can of soda you  should drink have or less and move on to a cup of water. Later in the day go on to drinking the second portion of the soda. This will get your system to get used to water instead of the sugar and caffeine. With any luck you should be able to keep minimizing your dose of soda until you don't crave it anymore.

  13. I am not sure how much you drink or what kind. My son drinks one or two a day and gives it up each year for lent. He always goes back to it though. If you drink allot with caffeine you will have headaches quitting cold turkey, but sometimes that's the easiest way.

I recommend you decrease the number you drink by one every day and then stop once you are down to one a day.

I use to drink allot of pop and quit when I was pregnant, after i had my first child I could not drink it anymore, I found the carbonation totally yuckie and the taste way too strong. I never drink pop at all anymore.

  14. I quit. And so can you. Soda causes many problems. Especially diet soda. Diet soda can cause brain damage, damage to the nervous system, etc. Regular soda gives you minor headaches and stuff like that. But I still recommend you to stop...NOW!

  15. Try to get your parents to buy some Perrier water or drink regular iced water with lime or lemon.
