Any books/websites/TV specials about the history of American schools?

I'm specifically looking for info on co-ed (if there were any) Catholic high schools in the 1940's, in big cities like New York.

Not 100% sure, but all I can really say, is,  I think I might actually be better,  to go your Local libraries,  and ask there for all the information, you should be able to get quite a lot of the information there,  Libraries are actually quite good for that sort of information,  you just got to know exactly what you want to ask them...
