  2. Hello there,

The short and correct answer is, if you are an english resident, then they all will insure you for the duration of a holiday trip which includes you taking your own car from the UK, but alas, if you are a Republic of Ireland resident, you have to be insured by an Irish Insurance company, and that is the law I'm afraid.  Idi know that Insurance costs in Ireland are at a crazy level, and it's a wonder that they canm get anyone to fork over such vast amounts of money for such minimal cover, I think that the insurance companies in rthe Republic of Ireland need a really good shock to their system, by the Irish government forcing them to restructure their business operations charges, as the costs for insurance are now just about more expensive than a Mafia loan...Lobby your politicam representative, with words like, "Hey Deputy, get this insurance scamming sorted out or you and a lot of your bandit mates are out of a job come the next election" He /she won't like the Dole at present day rates, and he won't be able to pay his insurance either...

I justy got my Saab insured in the uk for £163.. fully comp. and I am happy with that, even though I am 62 years old, but at home in Galway it would have been over 4 times the price, I live in England though, Good luck in getting your sorted and cheaper......Tony M...

  3. There's no such place as Southern Ireland.  If you mean the Republic of Ireland as opposed to Northern Ireland you cannot be insured at the moment by a British insurance company, it has to be an Irish one (from the Republic!).
