  1. Yep - if you get in the habit of making delayed calls, chances are you'll spend the greater majority of your career being yelled at.

    It's basically just good sportsmanship, but if you do make late calls and you get into a dispute, a roving umpire will generally rule with you, (as they cannot prove the call was late), however you will be given a warning and next time will lose the point.


  2. Yes, that is correct.  Do not hesitate to make a call.  Do it immediately when playing a match.  Good luck :)
