  1. actually there's also a subway system in toronto...

  2. Depends on the city.

In Toronto, the subway is part of the TTC - http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/

In Montreal, the subway is part of the STM -

Most other cities in Canada have a light rail or raised system.

Vancouver has the Sky train, which goes underground in the downtown core, which is part of Translink - http://www.translink.bc.ca/ and they are also building the Canada Line - http://www.translink.bc.ca/Projects/Rich...

You also might be thinking of Calgary, which is run by the CT and calls its' the CTrain - http://www.calgarytransit.com/html/ctrai...

  3. Montreal has the Metro, which is a subway, Vancouver has the skytrain which goes underground a little but is mostly an elevated light rail line. Toronto has a subway, which was the first in Canada.  The Yonge St line opened in 1954.

  4. Smart Canucks

  5. Asking a question twice does not change the answer.

Canada does not have a subway system. BUT Montreal does and it is the Metro. Other cities have light rail transit - not subways because they are not underground or only go underground occasionally. The LRT in Calgary is like that - it goes underground in a few places. When I lived there most of us called it the LRT but officially it is called the C-Train. In Ottawa it is called the O-Train and in Vancouver we have the Sky Train.
