Any chance Shawn and Nastia return?

Question

Nastia will be 22 and Shawn will be 20. I know that is kind of old for gymnastics, but a 33 year old won silver for Germany on vault. I really hope they both come back.

Not old at all, and I expect them to return. We are so used to seeing gymnasts in their teens, but some actually are in their 20's. also in this day and age, age isnt a factor like years ago. If an athelete stays in shape, and keeps their talent at the leval they are used to, I dont see why they cant perform for quite a while. As you mentioned the 33 year old, she still looks great and performs with much flair. She got a silver I believe. Look at Dara Torres at 41 in swimming. She won a couple more silvers, and in the team relay as anchor, swam the quickest time. I dont see why these 2 young women wont contend in 2012, and am hopeful they will.

i think nastia would want to come back and win the events that she deserved, seeing as how competitive she and her father are

its quite possible. it depends primarily on how well their bodies hold up with 4 more years of hard training.  gymnastics training is very hard on the body

I don't think Nastia will go on to the next Olympics, but Shawn said she is considering it now as she is having so much fun.

Nastia's body is falling apart and she is tired, she wants to take some time off. Maybe after a year she will come back. Who knows...

shawn said that wasnt going to before the olympics started, but in an interview the other day she said that she was having the time of her life, and how she cant imagine not coming back for the 2012 olympics, im pretty sure nastia is the same way
