Any chance the elevators in Mass Effect 2 will be any faster?

Seriously, space age technology and I'd prefer to take the nonexistent stairs to save time... Love the game but hate the load times! Also, is there a timeframe on when Mass Effect 2 will be released?

The elevator is the worst...

By time the next one comes out you will be able to download the game to your harddrive to eliminate the loading time. They discussed this during the E3 conference and a demo of it was leaked online last week.  The ships elevator is slower than a 70's warehouse. You would think that ship had 20 floors to it!
