Any cheap holiday in UK selfcatering?

My daughter has found a caravan in the Lake District for under £300 a week. I will get the details from her tomorrow, so don't "best answer" just yet. My Daughter starts her holiday on Saturday, and she has used this caravan before. The kid's love it, it's on a farm, near Kendall, and it's a luxury 8 berth caravan. All I know is the phone number, but I will get the name of he place for you in the morning, as we want to book it ourselves for September.

I also know a GORGEOUS little camp site in Cornwall, not far from my home. It's not as cheap as the one in Kendall,(which is a very rare find) but it's half the price of a holiday at Butlins, or one of the big "Haven sites" and it's in a gorgeous little Cornish village, and near to lots of attractions for the kids. They have about 10-12 static caravans.

Yes - have a look at www.cottageguide.co.uk which has self catering properties all over the UK, at a good variety of prices. We have a property listed there under Staffordshire.

Rent a cottage, preferably out of season and not during school holidays and you'll pay the lowest rate.  

If there were only 2-4 of you then you could pay as little as UK200 per week for a nice place.

Yes, go for a privately owned caravan, cottage or similar.  Don't bother going through a company or holiday park, they add at least £100 - £130 per week ontop of what they give the owners.  Check out  www.caravanholidaystenby.co.uk
