Any cheap home phone service, in Houston Tx.?

Single mom, very limited income. Have small child need cheapest service with no hook up fees.

OK I apologize now that I have the information added. I hope you can see my earlier point.

I think your best option is a cheap pre-paid cell phone to handle emergency's. There would be no contract and you could prob get one for $25. They are available everywhere from every carrier. I would try and find one that offers true 911 service. I have T-Mobile and dialing 911 does not get me my nearest 911 service. I think many of the others do. This will also limit the amount of time anyone can spend talking since obv it will just go dead. It will protect you from additional fees since once the money is out so is the phone.

It can be used for other things obv but like I said, it will limit your exposure to whatever you want to put on it for time.
