I coach the under 15's grade and finding it very challenging. Oppositions weakness/strengths I can read but other things I need to look for is helpful. I've been nominated to coach the under 13's Wellington Rep Team, need some pointers.

  1. what ive learnt from coaching under 13s is......

-they always muck around...so keep them occupied

-also dnt let them take control over you

-and listen to what the guy says above/below me

    he has some useful pointers

  2. the main concern with coaching at that age group is the kids want to do flash things like the nrl players, thats ok as long as you explain what can happen when it goes wrong. concentrate on the strengths and the weakness of your own players and use that to the advantage of the team. if one of your players has a weak right side pass make sure within his position on the field he does it as little as possiable. do you get the picture. understand that coaching rugby league is like a game of chess, the strongest and smartest move wins.
