Any comment's on 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS manual transmission?

Question

I'm planning on buying 1 but my dad keeps telling me Corrola, Civic and so on. I know for sure Lancer has better handling, acceleration, cheaper insurance and way more feature's than the other car's do. I also know on the other hand this car is not that good at resale value, reliable(not sure about that), oh on the top of all that gas is little lower than Corrola, Civic, e.t.c. So what do you guys think?

I got the 09 Lancer GTS last month but with the CVT transmission, and I'm really happy with my choice. I was in a similar situation as you, deciding between Toyotas/Hondas, and ended up choosing the Lancer. I drove an 05 Honda Civic for about 6 months and I did get great gas mileage but I felt like it was so boring. I also test drove the 09 Corolla and it was my least favorite out of everything, I felt like the interior was such a piece of c**p. The Civic SI was my first choice but since it requires premium fuel I decided against it. My Lancer has the sun and sound package and the navigation and if it didn't have those features I probably would not have wanted it. The navigation may seem a little unnecessary but after a week of having it you really can't live without it. My favorite feature of it that I think is unique to the Lancer is you can burn CDs directly onto the hard drive of the Nav. It's like an in-car iPod. On the downside though, my friend has a 99 Civic SI and out raced me. I have the CVT though, maybe you could have better luck with the manual ha. Hope this helped!
