  1. I just stayed there a month ago. Overall, it was lovely. Definitely a lot nicer than the Riu Santa Fe next door! Main points:

    1. I went on a romantic trip, and I'm 26, bf is 33. I would not recommend it for a party-type scene, like 18--22. I think you'll be disappointed if that's your age range, because although it was a lot of fun to us, the crowd was generally older than high school and college.

    2. To jet ski, parasail, etc., we were disappointed that, although you sign up at the Palace, you have to walk to the Santa Fe or even farther for the activities. Seems like it should be right there for the money you have to spend to be at the Palace!

    3. We only ate at the regular buffets (kept missing our reservations for dinner) and thought the food was awesome. The "late night" buffet was seriously lacking though.

    4. Rooms were pretty and spacious.

    5. Long beach walk to town! Take a water taxi, although for some reason the waves are higher in front of the Palace so taxis didn't want to drop us off there.

    6. The pools (and sea, for that matter) were too cold for me.

  2. Hola.  I personally think the Riu Palace is a great place for young and old to come to Cabo for the first time and experience it!  All inclusives are great for this because all the worries of travel are taken care of.  Besides, the Riu is a pretty swanky place, its a 5 star, so the grounds are gorgous, the food pretty good, and the entertainment and activities awesome!

Try an all inclusive first, and then the next time you come to Cabo, (and you will be back!) You can then plan your trip to suit your individual taste.

On the down note, all inclusives are just that, all inclusives, and it can disappointing for some.  There has been some bad press of late (murder of a Canadian, theft in rooms, out of control spring breakers)

Personally, I always feel like I'm herded like cattle, and get sick of buffet food pretty quick but you can always chose to eat off site, or go off on your own.....so for 1st timers I think the all inclusive is the way to go!

  3. I have booked some of my clients there and they absolutely loved it.  Here is a description I have for the Riu Palace

All-Inclusive, Spanish-style elegance on the beach and near downtown – This 5-story All-Inclusive resort opens onto a powdery, white-sand beach less than 3 miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas. In keeping with Riu's signature Spanish-style architecture, the cream-colored building features arches and red-brick cupolas, surrounding shallow fountains and swaying palms. Lovely landscaped gardens complement the grand design that makes "palace" an apt description. This sprawling property suits both active and leisurely, intimate vacations.
