He 'lay' with lots of people.

I'm not going to find the verses for you. If you haven't read the Bible don't answer.

  1. King David was not g*y.

Today's homophobia has nothing to do with him, but rather with the prohibition of male homosexuality which is found in the Jewish Bible.

  2. Your talking about the Old Testament, which is "the old way" things were done.  It's full of things that don't work. The new way (serving others) is called the "New Testament".  The "New" way works big time.  The "Old" way was buggy and unpredictable.

  3. I've always wondered about that.  It's amazing that his sexcapades don't ever come up.

  4. Failure to exercise self-control in a given situation can tarnish a long record of faithful service and plunge one into all kinds of difficulties. An illustration of this is what happened to King David. Though loyal to true worship and having love for the righteous principles of God’s law David committed adultery with Bath-sheba, and this led to his having her husband Uriah placed in a battle position where death was a near certainty. As a consequence, for years afterward, David was plagued with severe difficulties within his family. His case also demonstrates the wisdom of avoiding situations that can lead to a loss of self-control. Whereas he could have left the rooftop of his palace, David evidently kept on looking at Bath-sheba as she bathed herself and so came to have a passion for her.

Similarly, it would not be good for a person lacking self-control to remain single when he could enter into an honorable marriage and thereby protect himself against committing fornication.

David did not make it a pattern of fornication & adultery in his life. David also had No homosexual acts with Jonathan who was some 30 odd years his Senior. Get your facts right.

  5. There is no mention anywhere that David and Jonathan were g*y. If they were, they would have been stoned to death, because homosexuality had the death penalty back then. (Leviticus 20:13)

We know that they were very good friends, and loved each other like brothers, but that's about it.

  6. David was clearly bisexual, but as he grew up he focused on women - lots of them.

  7. All I know is that people like to project their sexuality onto David, who loved Jonathan as a brother, and quite clearly states this.

I love my sister, and would die to save her. It is the same.

  8. well i think he's bisexual... but of course people would ignore that and just look at the good things he did

  9. It was the order of the day then.  The kings all had many wives.  It's crazy, but that's the way it was then.
