How thrilling would it be to thunder along a train track at nearly 400 miles per hour?

  1. Stand on the track... then let me know.

  2. it's probably magnetically levitated which means friction is nearly non existant beteen it and the track which means no wheels and a lot less power consumption than you'd think... I'd love to go that fast

  3. I'd suggest that the power consumption on a fully commercial multi-car TGV at that speed may be an issue of economics. Aerodynamic laws mean that relatively small increases of speed above normal TGV speeds require significant increases in power. Note the special motors and larger wheels fitted for the test run.

Note for our pimply youth below- TGV is NOT maglev, it sits on rails and is driven by rail contact

  4. Wouldn't  that be such a thrill !?   ,; )
