  1. you should get protien from fish, but also try the powders, thats what i use, its for vegan ppl and it has protien from vegitables. for carbs eat potatoes, and bread. for fiber just eat fruits and usually most food has fiber, or you could try the yuogurt with fiber. in practice you should be running at least 3 miles a day, and on saturdays try running about 5 if you run 3 miles in practice. on sunday run about 3 or just rest.

  2. Hey Im a vegan runner=]

For carbs you should have things like a lot of pastas and breads for dinner. If you just drink like a bottle of water at lunch that should be enough. For lunch just eat like a bagel or a sandwich(maybe pb&j or cheese with maybe like soy lunch meats). Also eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, you cant eat all carbs. Bananas are really good for giving you energy and preventing cramps so have one before you run alot. You dont need to run 7 days a week, it may sound weird but you should take a day off on either saturday or sunday. Also though, you should probably up your mileage from a mile to maybe 2-4 miles on the weekend. It doesnt matter how much you walk. Also for protein you have plenty of nuts and seeds, and eggs if you eat those. You can buy nutritional yeast and just sprinkle it on anything and its loaded with all the vitamins vegetarians need. Hope I helped, good job for being vegetarian and good luck!!

  3. Look for foods with high energy ... citrus, bananas ... the day before running don't eat heavy after noon, your body needs time to digest and take all the nutrients from your food .... drinking water is good - it helps to flush your system of toxins .... you should take extra iron and vitamin B supplements - brewers yeast tablets are good....the exercise you are getting in is good - but you could up it with some power walking with your dog and some light running.... you need to build up your stamina for long distance .... try power walking and sprinting alternates......you should be doing this every day so you have the strength, energy and power for longer distances ..... you also need to learn to breathe when you run - if you get a stitch you need to be able to breathe through it .... power walking will help you to maintain effort and breath as a combined effort..... perhaps you can also time yourself and judge how you feel at your destination .... you can then assess how much more or less training you need to put in or take out .... try a couple of practice long distance runs and time yourself .... then you will learn how to pace yourself for the race ....

    Good luck!
