  1. I think when you travel is the best way to go cheaply.  Off season in the fall and spring are usually the cheaper times.

Use a good travel agent like I do and beat those Internet deal and even the cruise line's "online" prices.  Plus there is the convience and extra security using a good travel agency.  My best deals and service come from an self employed agent that works for her own agency (not just a part time employee at some big agency that was working at a fast food joint last week.)

Her name is Barbara, email her at Kustomtravel@yahoo.com for a quote.

I agree it's fine to have an inside cabin on most cruises to save money.  Most of the time when it's daylight you aren't in the cabin anyway.  Use your savings to go on some fun shore trips at those exotic destinations.

    BonVoyage.

  2. Check with Hobbit Travel.  They specialize in cruise vacations.

  3. I would say probably on Carnival during Hurricane season. Hurricane season lowers the prices, and Carnival usually has the best prices anyhow, and then it also depends on the length of the cruise. If their is a hurricane in the path of the ship, the ship will go around it, so they do everything in their power to protect you and stay as far away from the storms as humanly possibly, but the waves on the other hand could carry on the ocean, so the waters may be a little rough.

  4. You need to decide when and where you want to go first and then shop for deals and make sure that you book early or look for specials.  You can find specials online.  Here's an example:

Not that the same cruise is a different price each week and there are some dates that are called special/hot sails.  You get the cheapest price if you go when the price is the cheapest.  Royal Caribbean is a great line and I do recommend this ship, the Freedom of the Seas.  Its a great ship and just launched last year.

  5. The best time to buy is as soon as you know which cruise you want to take.  The reason is, if prices go up, you keep the lower price you booked at.  If prices go down before final payment is due, you can request the lower price.  I recently received a $260 refund on a cruise that I am going on in April 2008 because of a price reduction.  If the price goes down again, I'll ask for the lower price again.  If the price goes up, I'll keep the lower price I currently have.
