I want to go on a relaxing cruise and not have to worry about yelling. Is there any cruises that you know of that are 21 and over ONLY?

  1. Erin, on our last Holland America cruise, there were 131 children on board, and we hardly ever saw them, as they had their own area. It was so nice that their parents hardly ever saw them, either. I suppose that this is typical in the industry, as no traveler wants to be annoyed by kids.

Just go on the line and ship that you want, and you will have a good trip.

    Old joke for you:

On a liner, an old man was in a deck chair trying to get some sleep in the sun, but a little boy was making a lot of noise, keeping the old guy awake. Finally, he asked the boy to please go somewhere else so that he could have quiet and go to sleep.

The little boy said "My parents sleep in bed."

"Not enough" said the old man.

    Regards,

    Dan

  2. I have found that a lot depends on the season that you cruise. Also the higher class of ships have less rowdy kids for the most part. I have cruised with Princess and only on the Caribbean cruise were there a lot of kids. Going to Europe, the Mediterranean, Alaska, panama canal, and a long cruise(29 days) all had very few kids. All of them except Alaska were during the school year. Even Alaska we did not have a bunch of rowdy kids and they did not bother us at all. It's the parents that are the pain in the a--. On my 29 day cruise, we had only 4 kids and 3 of them I only saw 1 time.

might have some other people who have gone on cruises like you meantioned.

  4. The cruses I have gon on have never had kids.. some teens that's all. If you cruse on one of those "family" disney ships then yes.

I would call the line and ask about it... but I really don't remember kids on ours...

HOWEVER the adults WERE screeming a lot... especially around the pool and gambling area's

  5. I've been on almost a dozen cruises, and they've always had *some kids* around.  Some boats are better at control than others.

You best bet for avoiding the young-uns is to cruise when they are most likely to be in school.

Avoid March/April because the colleges are in spring break and cruising is becoming a popular spring break activity.

Some cruise lines do offer "Adults Only" sections usually in/near the Solariums.  Teens/kids try to sneak in, but are usually caught pretty quickly by the staff.

    Enjoy your cruise.
