Any cute hairstyles for short, natural African hair?

I'm going natural and have been for a while. Right now, I think that my hair is about an inch natural and I was thinking about getting in permed for the school year. Here's the thing, I don't want to though. Do you have any suggestions, and please, do not give me any links, I find those very hard to look at and search for things!

you can braid it in the front and then just let the rest be curly or you can get a straw set those are always really cute

I love african hair!  Since it's likely curly, and thick... you will likely end up with an afro if you just let it go.  Straightening it might be tough, but it is possible.  Either that or dreadlocks.

well, how bout a cute boyish pixie cut like riahanna. or mayb do it with curls. but play around with gels and creams and barets and bands. find a style that is all u. u might also want to grown your hair long. u should also look at ur fav celebs styles and try to copy in your own way. and also try bangs, they give the impression that your hair is longer.

i am totally jealous of the black girls with a cute 'fro going, not like the tight "looks like a giant beach ball" 'fro, but when the curls are looser and its kinda wild looking, maybe like 4-5 inches long
