Question:

Any dentists out there, please help?

I recently went the dentist and I was told I had to go to an oral surgeon to get 3 wisdom teeth removed and a tooth that had cracked removed (the gum started to grow over the empty space of the cracked tooth).

The dentist seemed to be in a rush and didn't seem like she wanted to deal with it. I felt like she wanted to pawn me off on someone else because she had a lot of other patients (she was booked until the middle of September, but I asked for an emergency appointment). Does that sound right?

  1. You seem to want the treatment done by this dentist and at the same time you don't like this dentist. I am confused as to what you want ...

  2. It is very common for a general dentist to refer to an oral surgeon, especially involving wisdom teeth and teeth that are already cracked. The reason for this is because these are more difficult extractions that are better performed by a specialist.

  3. She may have been rushed.  Thats a good thing though.  You can now go see an oral surgeon, and get the care you need and deserve.
