  1. We went on Princess cruise lines on a 7 day trip to Alaska.  It was the best vacation we have ever taken.  I was sad we had to get off the ship, would have liked to stay at least another week. So, I would go for at least 7 days, you are never bored, never run out of things to do. I suggest a room with a balcony, its like being in heaven sitting out on your own balcony,  watching whales and dolphins and the scenery.

  2. If you can afford it, go with 6/7 nights. Shorter cruises don't really give you enough time to get used to being on a ship, and there is a thing as a cruise that lasts too long! Being on the ship for a week gives you the chance to meet some people, try new foods, and really get the most for your money. Of course, on longer cruises you usually go to more places. Most week cruises have at least one day at sea, so you have a chance to relax and explore the ship.

  3. I recently had a cruise to Cancun for 6nights 7days.I only paid $669 per person with all inclusive. The experience we had was great.I cannot explain until you personally experience. The weather was 80%,sandy beach, great food, great entertainment 24/7.We made great freinds also. You want to visit www.sptravel4u.biz to get all details.

  4. If you are going on a cruise for the first time, then you should go for the 4 night cruise, and then work your way up, because they are the best get away ever.

  5. i like shorter cruises, because even thought its fun, after about 4 days/3 nights, your done. unless its a cruse where you stop and spend like 2 days one night on land somewhere. We had a 6 night/7 day cruise that we stopped on two islands and spend a night, so we were actually only on a boat for 4 nights.

  6. 7  night, you personally get to know everyone you are with in a longer period of time relax more and see more on your vacation and their are more destinations to choose from and having more fun is deffinately the thing, and everything, and then you get to know your staff personally and find out a little about them but I have to say its always hard leaving the crew behind once its time to leave as you get so attached some people do others dont so its not a big deal but you really miss everything about the cruise once you return to your home because its not as catered as it was on the cruise but everyone needs a break now and then.

  7. I've been on nine cruises: 2 3-day (Baja), 1 4-day (Baja), 5 7-day (Mex.Riv. twice, E Caribbean, W Caribbean, and Alaska) and 1 - 15-day (RT Hawaii from LA).  So I've experienced a range.

If it's your first cruise, I suggest the shortest one.  I didn't include my trip to Catalina or one day to Ensenada from San Diego (your basic gamblers' special) but these helped me understand that I need to take along motion sickness remedies.  But I did okay anyway and was ready for longer ones.

When you've gone on a short one, consider a longer one...often the price per day is a better value with a 7-day than a 4day.  Plus, the first day is often spent getting onboard and getting acquainted with the ship.  The last night is spent packing.  the last morning is spent waiting for the customs and immigration process.

  8. id choose 4 +...it take a least 2 days to understand the layout of the ship, used to the motion of the ship,...etc

  9. If this is your first cruise, I would go for a shorter one.  I have been on two 3-night cruises, both times for Christmas.  I didn't love them, but I felt that activities were curtailed because of the holiday.  My parents have done Alaska cruises for about a week and loved them.  Loved the food, loved the activities.

Also, it will depend on your destination.  I would highly recommend the Bahamas.  I went to Nassau, and had a great time.

  10. 7 for vacation    3 or 4 for partying

  11. i would say 7. cruise ships are HUGE. i mastered the one i was

on in about 2 1/2 days. so if you only had a 3 night, you wouldnt

be able to experience everything exciting on the ship. also, more nights

usually mean more ports and countries to stop at. i was on a

7-day and we stopped at 3 locations.

    have fun on your cruise ;

  12. I have never been on anything other than a 7 day cruise.  I don't see the point in a short cruise.  I feel that the whole point of taking a cruise is to relax and enjoy the warm, tropical weather.  This cannot be done in such a short time.  Go for the splurge and enjoy!

  13. I'd say 7 night. having been on both 3 and 4 night cruises, they're simply too short (major caveat: if you get seasick easily, or are on a really small ship when you prefer one of the mega ones, go for a shorter cruise). 6 nights is just odd, and are more difficult to come by in terms of variety of cruise lines and good deals. 7 nights is the perfect time. You get 2 days to really get used to the ship you're on, time to see a couple great destinations, savor the food onboard, and see some great shows.

  14. I would choose a seven night.  I like those the best because by then, you're starting to get a little bit tired of being on a ship for that long.  The fun has worn off because you've done everything and you start to miss being at home.  However, it's not long enough to make you hate cruising, but long enough to make you want to go home and still be excited for another cruise.  It's the perfect amount of time.

  15. I've done 7,8, and 10 day cruises. For me, the longer the better! Otherwise, you'll feel rushed and not have time to explore everything there is to do. I'd much rather be relaxed and pampered for 7 days than for 3!!!

  16. I would suggest 7 nights. Mainly because cruise lines use the older ships for 3 and 4 night cruises. In most cases the cost per day are cheaper on the 7 night cruises.

You also will get the best destinations on a 7 night cruise. The shorter cruises can only travel a short distance.
