  1. wel I'm from there so here goes....as for foods we like the same things as any other north American place. The capital of Manitoba is Winnipeg and some of the special events that take place every year are Folklorama and Festival Du Voyageur, Icelandic Festival (in Gimili). There are plenty of jobs here right now-they are expanding the Red River floodway and are in need of excavation workers and also construction workers and as the same with most provinces-health care workers (docs., nurses etc.). Manitoba is known for it's beautiful fresh water lakes and beaches and a very popular beach is Grand Beach. Other parks are the Whiteshell Provincial Park and Riding Mountain National Park. The standing jokes about Manitoba center around our mosquitoes and our winters (hence the nickname Winterpeg). Hope this helps you a bit!

  2. da mom gave you some good information. You can search any of those things by name and find out more. I just want to include a couple she missed. First the capital, Winnipeg, hosts the second largest Fringe Festival in North America. Northern Manitoba can be desolute but beautiful. Churchill invites thousands of tourists a year. It's one of the best places to see aurora borealis (northern lights) and polar bears. Churchill is right on the Hudson Bay and has a shipping port that has been called an "arctic bridge" between Manitoba and Russia. And if you're looking for a little scandal, Flin Flon is home to the government funded marijuana grow op. The crop is all yeilded for medical users.

As far as jobs just a few more to mention. Winnipeg seems to have a large number of call centers and being in such a central location has a large trucking industry. As far as the rest of Manitoba, there are a lot of farmers.

Good Luck on your project.....if you need some insider insight, e-mail me through here.

  4. For cultural events in Manitoba, there's a complete list in the following question (took a really long time to type)http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...

The link to Manitoba's official website http://www.manitoba.ca/

    Manitoba Parks http://www.gov.mb.ca/conservation/parks/

As for food, Manitoba has foods from every ethnicity, so there really isn't a strickly Manitoba food.
