  4. Wow Beatle, thanks for mentioning him!

I've been a huge fan for years, right back to 'Edge of Insanity'!

I really enjoyed 'Maximum Security' too. Sadly I never cared much for the follow up 'Eyes of the World', though 'Freedom to Fly', and 'Madness' seemed to be vast improvements. I think that ''Evolution' might be my favorite album by Tony during the 90's. 2001's 'Chromaticity', and 'Live Insanity' released the following year were awesome too. The later being a live recording from 1997 at The Roxy, and really a showcase for Tony's abilities on both guitar and keyboards. The album also features Mike Terrana on drums and Ricky Riccardo on bass

Tony was also great in M.A.R.S. with Rob Rock (vocals), Rudy Sarzo (bass), Tommy Aldridge (drums). Tommy of course cutting his teeth with Black Oak Arkansas back in the 70's, and later  Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, and Ozzy Osbourne. Their 1986 album 'Project: Driver' still gets considerable play in my home even today.

The few years he spent with Planet X were great too, and their album 'Live From Oz' really shows his guitar skills in a live setting, along with Derek Sherinian (keyboards) and Virgil Donati (drums), two other very good players.

His time with CAB should be noted also, as he teams up with the great B-3 master Brian Auger! I love all of their albums, Cab 2 being my personal favorite. These guys are really tight, and Bunny Brunel's bass playing is cool.

Then we have 'Ring of Fire'...what an awesome collaborative effort with some of the best musicians around...the The Oracle, and Burning Live in Tokyo are great. Recommended if technical metal is your thing.

About a year ago I picked up the album 'Clinophobia' by one of Tony's more recent bands 'Devil's Slingshot', featuring legendary bass player Billy Sheehan and Aussie drummer Virgil Donati, who had also played with Southern Sons, CAB, Planet X, Soul Cirkus, On the Virg, Freakhouse, and the 80's band Loose Change. So with that being said, I was really expecting something huge from these guys. The fact that they are a 3 piece also got my hopes up, but in the end I felt that it was a very average outing by three greats.

    A few of my favorite songs;

    Empire in the Sky

    Albert's Fat Sister

    The Raven

    Hundreds of Thousands

    Oversea Evolution

    The Witch and the Priest

    Champion

    Rats With Wings

    Sacred Wonder

    Sinfonia

    Box Office Poison

    Wheel of Fortune

    Time Table

    Naked Nancy

    Futurism

    No Place in Time

    Key to the City

    Realm of the Flying Monkeys

    Porcelain Doll

    Disciples of Fear

  5. I love his work in Project Driver.
