  1. Their ships are very nice, the service is very good. There is a lot things to do on board.

    I prefer Celebrity though.

  2. Oh my gosh!. I have been on 8 cruises with Princess and the Panama canal was one of my all time favorites. We went from San Diego all the way through to Florida. We had a balcony which is a must for Panama Canal. You can sit outside for hours while you go through all the locks. It takes about 8 hours to go through all the locks and up the river. It was so beautiful and fascinating. I really loved Costa Rica too. They have great coffee. I hope you go, it's the best.

  3. I have been on 4 Princess cruises, and I like them a lot. Good service, good food, and professional/upscale people. Have always had a good time sailing with Princess--no complaints!

  4. I have been on three  Princess cruises, Alaska, Eastern Caribbean, and the Panama Canal.  The Panama canal was one of my two favorite cruises.  The ship was great and so was the food, service, staff and entertainment.  The cruise that we took stopped in  Costa Maya, Mexico; then Costa Rica, the Panama Canal and then Jamaica on the way back.  The Costa Rica stop turned out to be a great port stop because we took a tour that included a train trip out of town through the jungle and then stopped in a small town where we took a bus back to the port city.  It was really a chance to see the countryside up close.

The highlights of the Panama Canal were going through the locks, following and passing other ships, and then we took a tour from the ship which again included a train ride from the Atlantic to the Pacific right through the jungle along the canal most of the way.  The train car  had a platform so you could step outside and see things without having to take photos through the window.  When we went through the canal locks several ship photographers got off and took photos of passengers on their balcony or other decks.  So we got a great shot of us standing on our balcony.

On the trip back we stopped in Jamaica and did the Dunn's River Falls tour; a must do for Jamaica.

You will enjoy the cruise to the max.  It was a 12 day that we took and the ride was smooth all of the way and back.

  5. We have gone with Carnival 3 times and decided to go with Princess this next time. I've heard it's a little upscale from Carnival. I've heard the same for Royal Caribbean. There is certainly nothing wrong with Carnival, though. Princess ships feature Movies Under The Stars. That will be a new experience for us. We're looking forward to seeing what the Skywalker Lounge is like. Our cruise is Feb 24 on the Caribbean Princess out of FLL.

We definately plan to do the Panama Canal in the future. The repositioning cruise interests me. Twice a year, the ship goes from Miami to San Diego or the reverse. The price per day is much better than taking a 7 nighter.
