  1. Have fun! Enjoy yourself. Make the most of your time on the ice. That means seriously putting yourself to work when it's lesson time. Goofing-off time is for later. However, that doesn't mean lessons aren't fun; it just means you have to fully exploit it. Coaching time is extremely valuable, because if you try teaching yourself you can learn some habits that will be really hard to break that might prevent you from reaching your potential.

Last but not least: practice, practice, practice!

  2. Well, like my coach always tells me, practive makes perfect.  Falling only makes you stronger because you know what to correct the next time so you won' t fall.  I've been in skating for 13 years and I have been blessed with wonderful coaches throughout.  I have been skating competitively for 5 years also. But that doesn't matter,  as long as your having fun you're good to go.

  3. start with group lessons! they will help you and you will meat new friends

  4. You need lesons at your local rink! A trainer and brand new boots and sharpened blades, private ice time, dance and ballet lessons!

  5. Make sure you use sharp blades. Don't learn on blunt ones. Take your time. You want everythink perfected then rushed and ugly. Every one progresses at thier own rate so dont think your better or worse then any one else. Enjoy yourself but be deticated. Find a coach you like, get on with, and you feel conmfatable with. This is the most importanat person to you. Good look.

  6. Hey! I LOVE SKATING!!! It is my favorite sport in the entire world and NOTHING could take me away from it! I have been skating for nine years and I am 12. First, You need to get your own pair of skates. I reccomend Reidells for beginners, You can usually get them at your rink's pro- shop. Then you will need to get blade guards. You should put them on every time you walk off of the ice ( so your blades don't get ruined ) You will also need soakers and a towel. After you wipe your skates off with the towel, you should put the soakers on.

(don't put the blade guards back on because it will make them rust ) Then you will need to sign up for the Basic Skills Prograam at your rink. If it doesn't work for you, than you can contact one of the coaches at your rink and ask if they have time to give you lessons on public sessions. You don't need to buy a skate bag quite yet, because you can just use and old sleepover bag or duffel or suitcase.!!!!!

Hope that this helps!! Hope That you become a great skater!!!
