Any financial aid specialist, I need your help?

I have been attending college for 3 semesters and everything was going well with my financial aid till last semester I completely lost control of my studies. My GPA dropped fro 3.5 to 2.36. They decided to deny my financial aid for the next semester. I have to say that my academic failure is the result of an emotional crisis I have experienced through the semester, that kind of influenced my performance at school. They say that the only way to get my financial aid back I have to write a letter explaining my case with documentation such as medical report or something like that, which I don't have. There's got to be way because I don't consider myself as a bad student. Anybody with some experience in the field, I really need your help. Any reference, counseling or suggestion would be welcome.

  1. Hi,

I use to work in fin aid, and what we use to tell our students is to just write a letter about what happend.  Also, if you can get documentation from anyone you talked to, about your situation, have them write a letter also.  This will show you actually had a problem.  They should be willing to work with you.  If nothing else go to the director of fin aid, and just explain your situation.  Hope that helps!

  2. Also, get some instructors to write recommendation letters for you to show that you are an exceptional student.
