  6. Check out Ticket to Ride. It's a simple-to-learn, fun, board game about connecting US cities with train routes.

  7. For the three of you the games such as monopoly, life, clue and trivial pursuit are great.  If you want to play in pairs mancala is a great game, a very ancient game, easy to learn and to play.  Often the traditional games for two people are really the most fun - checkers, chinese checkers, chess, etc.

Also consider card games - gin rummy is always fun, and there are many other card games that kids love - crazy 8's, go fish, etc.  They might also enjoy learning how to play various kinds of solitaire if they don't know how.  Buy them a book that teaches card tricks and it will  keep them occupied for hours.  Have fun.

  8. well take them to a local game shop or if you have one, a Learning Express store (they have so many fun things in there) and find some to purchase....i myself am 12 and enjoy Blokus, monopoly, life, pictionary, apples to apples, twister, rush hour, bananagrams, mancala, scene it and also checkers and chinese checkers.  Maybe get a special version that is slightly girly or resembles there personality (i.e. if they Love horses, consider purchasing a Horse-opoly monopoly game)  They will have so much fun!

  9. risk, settlers of catan, monopoly, game of life
