I know a boy MAY not be interested but.....doll houses and things in miniature scale are hot right now.

If you have scarp plywood laying around you could use that and not have to pay for a sheet.  I used a sheet and had enough leftover for some other stuff.

You could paint these houses, download and printout scale sized wall paper etc...just all online and free.  It seems every site I saw had DIY projects.  

This is a great hobby and after you make the house you could sell it.  I go to auctions and find if there is a dollhouse there, they go fast and high. Those premade kits, (I have a few) just are pretty chintzy and cheaply made for the large amount of $$ they want for them.  You could do it yourself better and nicer.  Also check out all the miniature sites for furnishing the dollhouse.

If you want a summer hobby and to make some extra cash this is a great one!!

I have not got around to it yet but I have a blue print program (Super Home Suite By Punch Software) and I have used it to desigen blue prints for my Dream House will now I would like to build a 1/12 th. scale model of my dream house.
