Any future hope for the Super-Aguri team/drivers in Formula One?

Are there plans for the Super-Aguri team to fundraise and return to Formula One?

And what's happening to their current drivers, Takuma Sato (JP) and Anthony Davidson (GB)? What's their future? Could they join another Formula One team next year or will they move on to other things?

  1. I don't think there's a chance of Super Aguri returning to F1 in the near future. However, some other company could takeover and rename it.

Taku and Ant D are currently contemplating what's to become of their future. They have not given up on racing and are looking out for a race seat. I'm not too optimistic about them getting a seat mid-season. But they could next year

  2. It's never been easy for independent teams to stay competetive with the larger, more well funded constructors teams.  Any plans there were to revive the team fell through last week and the drivers are now currently jobless.

With the experience they have, Sato and Davidson will be able to  find work in F1 either as backup drivers or testers.  There are already rumors of Sato having a shootout with another driver to replace Nelson Piquet Jr. of Renault.  I would not be surprised if it were true,  a guy like Sato still has a relatively large fanbase built up from his home country and his Super Aguri days, he also has sponsors who could invest in Renault.  He's also a much better driver than Piquet Jr. and Renault really need the points.

  3. Who are they? lol

They dont exist anymore, any financial backer that owns more than 50% will chance the name of the team unless they like the name as with the to drivers we will have to wait and see if "Prodrive" get a slot in 2009 then i guess they will be the drivers but i can see 1 off them retiring from f1 because if you look at the facts

Mclaren, Ferrari , Bmw , Williams dont need a driver , Renualt ( if Nelson can improve then they dont need a secound driver, Toro Rosso( i dont think they need another driver) , Red Bull ( unless couthard retires then no driver needed),  Honda( unless ruben retires then no need )

Force India and Toyota are the only 2 teams that i think will have a new driving line up as fisi is in his 32 - 33 range and toyota may take glock out

    but thats just my opinion

  4. Well, I don't think they really have much chance anymore. It's sad to see a team leaving, but there's nothing we can do.. I think Davidson still has a chance to be in F1, but I can't say the same for Sato.

  5. The team is gone for the season.

There is good chance F1 will accept another team in 2009 or the future. So whoever has the money has a shot.

Sato and Davidson can now join another team. Sato has more chances, had better results and can attract more sponsors.

  6. I doubt that Super Aguri will return to F1. As for the drivers, I have heard that over this summer, Takuma Sato will test drive for Renault and as for Anthony Davidson, I'm not too sure.
