Seriously... every girl I have spoken to just about loves the guy. It isn't that I want a chance with them or something (I have my love), but it's just amazing as to how all these girls want a vampire in their life... named Edward Cullen. o_o

  1. well im just another one of those edward cullen obsessed girls and we all love him cause hes sweet and nice and does everything in his power to protect the one he loves even if it means hurting himself in the process.

  2. Wow I didn't even think it was possible not to like Edward (although most of the time I rooted for Jacob, until the last book). I do like Edward, the vampire bit was actually never the real reason, it was kind of like an added bonus. Edward is nice, caring, loves her with all his heart and he's intelligent (love that!).

  3. Well, I guess because he's everything most girls want: amazingly good looks, he's a gentlemen, intelligent, nice, easy to talk to and smells good :D And he isn't afraid to show Bella how much he's in love with her.

I guess we love him regardless of the fact that he drinks blood.

  4. Every girl? You have a limited aquaintance. JK!!

Seriously - I dislike Edward Cullen more than I have ever disliked any literary character. He's not even 'perfect'. He's an abusive creepy stalker!

EDIT: I would not want a boyfriend, no matter how good looking, how rich, how "sweet", if he fought a constant struggle to not kill me. If I had a guy who thought he could control my life because he always knew best, and never let me make my own desicions, he would find himself on my doorstep. If my boyfriend disabled my car so I couldn't see my best friends - and I don't give a ____ about his motives - it's my life! He would find himself packing with my truck up his a.s.s. I want an equal relationship - in other words, not one with Edward Cullen.

  5. I'm not an Edward Cullen fan, not really. I loved him while reading Twilight and New Moon, but after Eclipse and Breaking Dawn I'm really sick of him.

He's a doormat who lets Bella do whatever she wants with him; it's like he has no personality, no opinion. Bella treats him terribly, she's so selfish as she hurts him so much by loving Jacob too, and he doesn't care!

I guess it does show how much he loves her, but doesn't he have any self-respect? Shouldn't she be making some effort too? Doesn't he love himself at all? Jacob's case is much more realistic.

Also, Jacob is much more interesting than Edward. Bella and Edward never seem to have any interesting, constructive conversation. Actually, they never really talk about much other than how much they love each other.

Edward really boring; just another pretty face.

  6. I don't like him. He's an obsessive, controlling, stalker. Seriously if he wasn't as good looking as Bella mentions every other line then he'd just be some creepy pedophile (because he's like hundreds of years old) who wants to eat her because she 'smells good.' That being said, he didn't bother me nearly as much as Bella did.

  7. why does everyone love this book?

sounds kind of lame and i dont plan on reading it.

so yes, i dont like ed cullen.

  8. I read this article wherein it says that it's not so much the want of having a "vampire" in your life, but living "through" Bella -- that experience of having a bad boy and wanting to change him, as well as being in love with the idea of his restraining himself for you.

I think it's sort of what most disney fairy tales are: they make the viewer/reader want to be the princess being saved by the prince (or.. vice versa in the case of men... or something..), it's just that it's much more contemporary and easily to connect with, at least in my opintion.

  9. Kinda...I'm a teenager and I've read all 4 books - loved the first three hated the last. I think Edward Cullen is an interesting character...and different I guess but if I had been in Bella's situation I don't think I would have fallen that hard and fast for him. I would have chosen Jacob. Edward is arrogant, selfish and sees Bella like something he has to protect...vulnerable. He doesn't respect her or see her as an equal at all.

  10. truth is often stranger than fiction!

  11. It's bad enough that teenage girls fall in love with every singer in whatever bands are trendy this week and actor in the current hot crappy teen angst driven CW show, but they have to fall in love with characters in novels by women who should at least audit a creative writing class before writing a book too?

  12. me. isnt it kinda stupid how you can get obssesed with a vampire...that is MADE UP, FICTION....?!

    seems pretty crazy to me.
