The Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine. The vampires may not be sparkly fairies, but it's a great series - and it does have romance. I couldn't put it down.

I don't know how old you are, but you might find Ann Rice novels to be good.  The content can be mature.  Start with _The Vampire Lestat_.

You absolutely must read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is a vampire romance novel that's funny and heartfelt all at the same time.

Twilight is the first in a series of four books. The Twilight movie is coming out at the end of the year.

These books are fabulous - my personal favourite - and the fan base is growing bigger and bigger. People are actually comparing it to Harry Potter.

Seriously, AMAZING books.
