Any good ,clean hotel to stay for a day close to chennai central station?

within walking distance of rly station, clean beds and toilets , rent approx 500 to 600, since i will be there on work for only half a day before catching the return train.

you may try hotel kurinji,about 0.5-1 km fom central.they also serve south tamilnadu cuisine which is great.

Try Hotel Picnic, it is your best bet and within your budget.

It is only about 600 feet (200 meters)  from Chennai central station,

just a short walkable distance from Central Railway Station.

iam afraid in the budget quoted by you its hard to find good clean hotel room in the vicinity of Central station. You have to then check in into some lodge near by. My suggestion is try the railway retiring room.The AC rooms are good and clean and since you will there only for half a day its the best.

There is a Hotel by Name Picnic is very close to the Station and will be a worth place.

Alternate you can take a prepaid Auto and go to Egmore again near the station there quite few Hotels that are good.*
