Any good Horror Anime?

Question

I loved Elfen Lied and Higurashi no naku koro ni (and kai), but I fear that those are the best series I can see. And, like most people, I need more. So can you give me a good horror anime series if you can think of somthing as good, if not, better than Elfen Lied and Higurashi. Also, it has to be very bloody and psychological, and the animation and/or quality has to be great, not poor quality like Berserk. Also, can you give me a summary of each series to get me hooked onto it? Thanks!

it was a pretty psychological and weird anime.  I didn't really like it but that's because I don't really enjoy that kind of anime.  You should give it a try if you want to though.  I can't even really give an accurate description, it was so strange.

Jigoku Shoujo is a good one, also ghost hunt. It doesn't always have to be horror, there are many violent anime series, just do some reseach

Jigoku Shoujo:

During each story, the protagonists' dramas are explained in detail from the start of their grudges, through the escalation of their torment until it becomes unbearable and they resort to accessing the h**l Correspondence website. The contents of the site are only a text: "あなたの怨み、晴らします。" (あなたのうらみ、はらします。) (Anata no urami, harashimasu.) (We will take revenge, on your behalf.)", a text box where the grudge's object must be written, and a "送信" (Send) button. Some time after the post, they are visited by Enma Ai, a young red-eyed girl wearing a traditional sailor school uniform (usually the dark version used only in winter months). She hands them a straw doll, which is actually one of her assistants, with a red string tied to its neck.

Ghost Hunt:

Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. The story begins during an exchange of ghost stories between Mai and her friends, who are interrupted twice: first by a mysterious "male student" and then by a fellow classmate, who warns them of how their ghost stories attract spirits.

you could try Shana...I dont really know a summary of it since i've only seen the first episode but it seemed pretty scary...

Vampire Knight has a lotta blood but its a romance so maybe not for you...

It's not the most darkest of horror animes, but I liked Ghost Hunt alot, and some of the cases they got were pretty heavy. It's basically about how a female student, Mai, get's caught up with the SPR and ends up working for them in their cases after being involved with a case close to her school. So it's basically like an detective series dealing with the supernatural where there's a couple episodes that deal with each case. Regarding it being psychological/bloody, the main character, Mai, pretty much gets put into a dangerous situation for almost every case, but regarding bloody, i don't recall it too much however there was one case i recall that was VERY creepy and bloody and dark about a haunted mansion. :P It also isn't an old animation so the quality is good.

What about Death Note? It's not bloody, but that should be the main reason to see one

Nightwalker (not THAT gory but still creepy at times and there is Romance)

Pet Shop of Horrors: creepy as h**l and some romance(only a couple of eps though)

Paranoia Agent (i dont know if this is your taste but it sure is creepy)
