Theere are a lot of great jazz places in Paris. Here are a few  of them:

Slow Club at 130 rue de Rivoli, 1er (Métro: Châtelet or Louvre-Rivoli) which has been around forever.

My personal favorite hangout is Aux Trois Mailletz at 56 rue Galand in the 5th. Its where I sing when I'm in Paris.

Le Caveau des Oubliettes, rue Lombard in the 5th arrond.

It used to be a torture chamber, and comes replete with mini guillotine and maces on the walls.

Nice thing about this place it that they lay out grass (lawn, the reall stuff) as carpet in the main bar area. Great in the summer when you slip out of your flip-flops.

Jazz sessions in the basement.
