Any good Malls in Maui?

I am staying in Wailea. I want to find somewhere to shop for good quality name brand clothes and accessories. I don't have the budget to shop at "The Shops at Wailea" though I do like designer duds. I'm also looking for little cheap souvenirs for my friends. Any good places you would suggest?

  1. I've shopped here when I was in college and on a budget:

  2. Shopping on Maui:

    Cannery Shopping Center

    Wailea Shopping Center

    Whalers Village

    Downtown Lahaina

Strip malls between Kihei & Wailea on Kilohana Drive

Kahului Area (Costco, Ross, Wal-Mart, Super Kmart, Marshalls) (Stop when you arrive to stock up!!)

    Ka’ahumanu Center

    Craft Fairs:

Napili Kai Craft Fair (Wed & Sat)

    Community Center on Sundays

Swap Meet by Kahului on Saturdays

    Hotel Gift Shops:

    Napili Kai Beach Resort

    Grand Wailea

    Westin Maui

  3. theres one in Kihei and theres a mall in Kahalui its pretty nice actually.

  4. All the good shopping on Maui, for quality items, are in the hotels or near the hotel and resorts...the locals have little or no money to spend on designer clothing, those who do go to the mainland or to Honolulu to shop, and the coalition between the greenies and local Hawaiians have kept the land use so convoluted that no large malls have been built in Maui, and probably will not be built-there are some high quality shops so on the Kaanapali side of the island also, however, they are in the hotels...Aloha, and have a good time anyway, cheap trinkets are available at the ubiquitous and numerous ABC, which seems to be on virtually every street corner, but not as many in Maui as in Oahu-enjoy your stay, and do your shopping at home... also, do not avoid the 'high dollar' shops, they are having sales all of the time!

  5. Queen Kaahumanu Center in Kailua is the largest shopping center in Maui County, with Macy's and Sears as the anchor stores. For souvenirs, you might try the flea market on Saturday mornings, not too far from Kaahumanu Center.

Also check out Maui Mall and Maui Marketplace on Dairy Road. Longs drugs in Maui Mall or the Cannery in Lahaina is pretty good for cheap souvenirs, and so is ABC Store and Hilo Hattie.

For more boutique-type shopping check out Makawao and Paia.

  6. My suggestion would be to head over to Lahaina/Ka'anapali. If you want an indoor Mall, Cannery Row is just in front of 'Front' Street in Lahaina, but I suggest just shopping right on Front Street, there are Tons of Shoppes and Individually owned Cart/Kiosks to choose from as well as Discount Shoppes where you can buy inexpensive souvenirs for anyone and everyone...besides Lahaina is so much fun! Then there is Whalers Village right on Ka'anapali Beach a great Outdoor Mall with anything you could want as far as souvenirs, there is an ABC Store in here as well, whichever you choose....one or both(I say BOTH) you will have a great time~~Aloha~~

  7. There are only three "Malls" on Maui per se.  The largest being Kaahumanu Center, which offers the largest variety of stores, and the Maui Mall, which is better known for it's movie theater, the DMV and guri guri ice cream, than clothing and the Lahaina Cannery Mall, By the way, the Kaahumanu Shopping Center and the Maui Mall are both located in Kahului (near the airport), not Kailua, which another poster mention, which is not even on Maui.  The two closest to you in Wailea are the Kaahumanu Shopping Center and the Maui Mall.  Take about an hour and a half drive from Wailea to the West side of the island and you will find the Lahaina Cannery Mall,  Whaler's Village and Lahaina Towne.  You can get some fine clothes in either place.  Also, as someone also mentions, try the boutiques in Paia and Makawao.  I was just up in Makawao last week and was surprised at the clothing stores.

Just a curiosity question.  Why would you want to shop for  "quality name brand clothes and accessories" in one of the most expensive places you can possible look for them?  If you are passing through, or staying on Oahu at all,  Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu is the place to look for this type of thing.  Cheap souveniers for your friends is an easy one...Walmart. Long's Drugs (Lahaina side), or any ABC or Whaler's General Store.
