  1. Gardens of Taxco is actually outside of the SF Valley -- but it is totally worth the extra 10 minute drive.

    1113 N Harper Ave

    West Hollywood, CA 90046

    Phone: (323) 654-1746

Here is a short description of the restaraunt that I found:

Like a dark comfy home in Mexico circa the early '70s, this West Hollywood hideaway is decked out with tin flowers, funky wood paneling and faux stained glass. Gregarious waiters decked out in guayaberas sing basic entree choices like beef, chicken and shrimp dishes to guests. The menu consists of five courses--appetizer selections can include cheese quesadillas, shredded beef enchiladas and albondigas soup. A shot of sherry and banana pudding completes the meal.

It is definetly a place to try at least once.

  2. No, you cannot find good Mexican food anywhere in Southern California

  3. Best one by far is called Salsa & Beer located

6740 White Oak Ave (cross street is vanowen)

seriously.. its always full, morning, afternoon & dinner... amazing restaurant that's by far extremely cheap.

  4. Sierra's and for take out check out Carillos
