  1. Veggie kebabs!  Use yellow squash, zucchini, onion, cherry tomatoes and par boiled potato cubes.  Marinate for a few hours and grill.

  2. cworn

  3. macaronii salid

  4. bar b q corn on the cob its great and vegie burgers by linda macartney yum

  5. I tend to do veggie/tofu burgers and sausages.  Also you can get some chunky veg like red onions, courgettes and peppers and put on screws and BBQ.  Don't forget potato salad and bean salads go down well.

    Check out:

  6. i recommend bocca (idk how many 'c's) they make different kinds of veggie burgers. my parents eat them and love them, so they must be good!

    have a good bbq!

  7. Portobello Burgers!!!

  8. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥LOOOOOOVE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ VEGGIE BURGERS......they r just like burgers....,....except for vegetarians! They are really good. Just don't get them mixed up with the reg. burgers!! they looK the same!

  9. You can get Quorn burgers, sausages, and other veggie BBQ stuff from supermarkets, wholefood and health shops. Supermarkets are the best for variety and for finding veggie food in the 1st place. I find Sainsbury's and Morrisons are the best but it varies from place to place as to which supermarkets sells what. It's best to stick to well-known veggie brands like Quorn and the supermarkets own brand veggie stuff to avoid buying something that appears veggie but has a non-veggie ingredient in it.

    Good luck and enjoy your BBQ. Hope the weather's nice for it:-)

  10. corn on the cob, veggie cabobs you've probably made them before with beef just make them but make them all vegetables. It would also help if you knew what type of vegetarians they are like if they eat eggs or not

  11. On the grill, simple is best.  Corn on the cob is delicious.  Shuck the corn, Spray with olive oil PAM or substitute, and warp in foil.  Cook the corn on the grates about 30 minutes, turning once.  When done, season with your choice of salt, pepper, lemon pepper, chili powder, fajita seasoning, or whatever you like.

    Potatoes, onions and carrots are also good.  Potatoes go right in the coals for about an hour, onions about the same and carrots about 45 minutes.  All need to be wrapped as above, and the potatoes oiled.

  12. Grilled portabella mushrooms, grilled zuchini, grilled red pepper all put on a whole grain bun like a sandwich. Vegetarians also eat beans, so baked beans would be good with the sandwich.

  13. BBQ whole portobello mushrooms (brush with olive oil; sprinkle with garlic salt & oregano).  Serve on rolls with lettuce, tomato, onions, sliced avocados ......  This is nice for the vegetarians, because they will be eating something that's similar to the burgers you fix for everyone else; and they can use the same "fixins" for it:)

  14. 1. Large mushrooms cream cheese on top. (Wrap them in tinfoil before you put them on the bbq, should take about five minutes to cook)

    2. Vege skewers with red,green.yellow peppers and onion coated with a sweet chilli sauce.

    3. Corn on the cob (wrap in tinfoil first)

    4. Layer equal slices of potato and butter nut in a dish and cover with cream (add onion soup powder, dilluted in water, to the cream) bake for 30 minutes. You can enjoy this too, o know it sounds like it shouldnt work but believe me it really really does.

  15. Make sure you veggie burgers.

    Morning Star Farms makes great ones: Grillers, Grillers Vegan, and Spicey Black bean.

    Have some 7 layer salad

    Sliced Avacados

  16. Morningstar Farms has AWESOME stuff. . .go to their website at www.seeveggiesdifferently.com.  Just this week, I've made the Aegean Meatballs, the Meatless Meatloaf, and tonight we're having grilled grape leaves (stuffed with griller crumbles and goat cheese).  The stuffed grape leaves are grilled.  We also grill fruit and veggies a lot.  Rachael Ray did a show where she substituted thick slices of eggplant in meat dishes she was cooking for both veg and non-veg friends.

  17. The complete book of vegetarian grilling : over 150 easy and tasty recipes you can grill indoors and out / Susann Geiskopf-Hadler

  18. i am a vegitarian. i usually ask for a veggie burger and i eat some vegies that were on the grill. corn is nice, zucchini, egplant, bell pepers, portabella mushrooms, any of that. and salad is also nice, potatoe salad, cole slaw, macaroni salad.

  19. Veggie burgers!

    Ingredients:

    1 can Chickpeas

    1/2 cup lentils

    1 cup cooked wild rice or brown rice (whatever you prefer)

    1/2 c. cut up steamed veggies

    Directions:

    Puree the chickpeas and lentils in a food processor or blender. Then put it in a bowl and mix in the rice and veggies. After that, form the mixture into patty shapes and cook at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. If they aren't firm and burger like after 10 minutes cook for a little longer. Then you can grill them on the grill later in barbecue sauce.

  20. These are always big hits with meat eaters too-

    Barbecued Tofu

        * 1 pound extra firm tofu, well pressed and sliced into 3/4 inch rectangles

        * 3/4 cup barbeque sauce

        * 3/4 cup brown sugar

        * 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

        * 3/4 cup orange juice concentrate

        * salt and pepper to taste

    Whisk together the barbecue sauce, sugar, chili powder, pepper and orange juice over medium low heat about 3 minutes.

    Place the barbecue sauce mixture in a wide flat dish, and place the tofu in the sauce, coating both sides well.

    Allow to marinate for at least two hours.

    Grill for 4 or 5 minutes on each side, brushing with additional sauce.

    Sprinkle with salt and pepper just before serving.

    Grilled Eggplant

        * 1 onion

        * 2 tsp brown sugar

        * 2 tbsp lime juice

        * 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil

        * 2 eggplants

    In a food processor, process the garlic, cilantro, onion, sugar, lime juice and basil.

    Slice the eggplant in thick, flat slices and place on grill, basting with the garlic, onions and herbs mixture, reserving half of the mixture.

    Allow eggplants to grill for about 15 minutes, turning once.

    Top with remaining onion and herb mix and serve hot.

    Tequila Portabellas

        * 4 portobella mushrooms, stems removed

    Whisk together the tequila, margarine, olive oil, lime juice and garlic. Allow to marinate for ten minutes.

    Baste the mushrooms with the tequila mixture, then place on grill.

    Allow to cook for 3 to 5 minutes, then turn and baste with more of the tequila mix and cook for another minute or two.

    Top with additional tequila mixture before serving.

    Grilled pineapple and coconut

        * 2 tbsp honey or agave nectar

        * 2 tbsp dark rum

        * 1 tsp lemon juice

        * 4 or 5 slices fresh pineapple

        * 1 cup flaked coconut

    Whisk together the honey, rum and lemon juice in a wide dish. Add the pineapple and coat well. Allow the pineapple to marinate for at least one hour in the refrigerator.

    Lightly grease your grill and fire up to a medium heat.

    Coat the pineapple with coconut on both sides, pressing the coconut into the pineapple to get it to stick.

    Grill on both sides for about 8 to 10 minutes.

  21. corn on the cob

    mushroom and baby tomato kebabs on scewers

    veggie burgers

    pineapple rings

    some vegitarians eat fish to remember so tuna or salmon steaks could be an option. or some prawns on scewers to.

  22. Quorn sausages and burgers, as long as they're not cooked on the same bit as the meat. :]

  23. You can easily make tons of vegetarian-friendly side dishes.  Pasta salad, potato salad, corn on the cob, bean salads, etc... will be appreciated by everyone.  As for grilling, veggie kebabs are great (if you can find chunks of prepared seitan to alternate with the veggies, that will make the kebabs more substantial.)  Portobello mushroom caps can be grilled like burgers, and of course, there are a million varieties of veggie burgers available.  (If you're going to grill for the vegetarians, make sure you're doing it on a clean grill.)

  24. Boca sausages are really good. There are a lot of choices: baked macaroni & cheese (as along as they're not vegan), most salads, baked beans (can flavor w/ veggie sausage), corn on the cob, salt potatos...

  25. Good vegetarian dish is an oxymoron.

    FYI – vegetarian is an old Indian word meaning poor hunter :-)

  26. Veggie kabobs are always good and have a nice 'presentation.'

    Also, portabella mushrooms grill well and are an excellent meat substitute.  I often grill onions, green pepper, garlic and portabellas together and then scoop them into pita bread with a nice dressing.

    With generous side dishes (roasted corn, a succulent tossed salad, some sliced melon or melons), your vegetarian friends will not go hungry.

    Find out if your vegetarian friend are strict vegetarians.  If not, they perhaps eat fish.  If so, that alone will open more possibilities.  A delicious and filling side dish could then be garlic cole slaw with boiled shrimp in it.  YUMMERS!

  27. These are great , I followed it exactly.

    You cant taste the alcohol ,  as alcohol.

    It kinda tastes like butter rum lifesavers.

    Oh ! I didn't have star fruit , I used kiwi.

    Real vegetarians don't want things that taste like meat.

    Oh , I hate meat !!

    Do you have anything that tastes like the stuff I hate ?

    dosen't make any sense.

  28. veggie burgers & sausages, veggie kebabs, salads

  29. Veggie kabobs. corn on the bbq is delicious as well.  If they eat fish do salmon steaks with lime and dill...mmmm I'm getting hungry.  Also veggie burgers are an option.

  30. The Morning Star vegi patties are pretty good. They're not elaborate but it's on their diet.

  31. HAPPY TO BE of SERVICE!!!!!! i am a veggie for more than 25 yrs. & i love BBQ!  o.k. here's one that usually makes a big hit any time i do it, & it is easy.....Kebobs!  don't know how many folks your having over so porportions won't be included. 1. get bamboo squerers 2.  ingredients - Tofu (marinate in teriaki )cubed, onions, red bell peppers, mushrooms.  while cooking splash teriaki.   o.k. now you can use the bamboo to make racks of Asperagus:  use two sticks - careful they tend to break - get the larger Asperagus - put 4 asperagus spears on each rack - you can marinate b4 you put on rack - italian dressing makes a good one.  Of course there is always the baked spud in foil & corn on the cob.  a note - i do not know how finiky your veggie friends are, but i have known some veggies who do not like their food cooked on same grill as meat - do you have a second grill just in case?  well have fun & hope this helps :)
