I'm looking for a train set too, a kind of cheapie one for my wee girl (shes 29 mth old).  Theres one on Identity Direct website which you can put around bottom of xmas tree and it plays jingle bells I think and has a working light - I'm sure its about £11.  Good luck.  If you find another one, let me know..............


  2. I would honestly suggest spending some decent money on a O-Gauge  electric train.

    A budget Lionel set will give great service.  No batteries to worry about and most sets out there have snap panel track which has a base with which the rails are mounted to and thus you don't have to worry about wheels eating the carpet.

    I'm a modeler so I'm biased but  good quality electric train set is a pleasure to own and will become a family keepsake for years to come if maintained.

    They usualy have battery train sets.
