Any good beaches near UCF?

I am going to be a senior next year, so of course, I'm looking at colleges. I've been to the campus, and I like the atmosphere. Everyone rides a skateboard to class (I skate myself), and while I was on the student - guided tour the guide said that UCF is located near a beach. Now, what would really be the icing on the cake is if it was a nice beach. I skimboard, and if the beach has some good waves for skimboarding (they don't have to be as big as for surfing, just decent). That's really what I want to know here. I am also looking at USF, FSU, and UF, so if anybody could tell me about that it'd be cool too.

in orlando you are about an hour from daytona.

a little more to melbourne / sebastian where the surfing is better

If you were at the Cocoa campus, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach  Indialantic, Melbourne. Take your pick.
