  1. Little Women; Peter Pan; Water Babies; Alice in Wonderland; Through the Looking Glass

  2. My 9 yo daughter just read The Doll People and she is now reading The Meanest Doll in the World. She loves them. I don't know if it's an actual series but the two books go together.

  3. Perhaps a good idea to buy her the 'Harry Potter'-series? It's a great way for her to improve her knowledge and increase her reading level, in my opinion.

And, admit, everyone needs to have read it at least once, right? :)

  4. I agree w/ Harry Potter or Nancy Drew.  My daughter who's an advanced reader and just turned 9 also likes the Encyclopedia Brown books and Boxcar Children, if you're looking for series that are a relatively easy read for an 8-year-old advanced reader.  For something a little more challenging, my daughter loved Lloyd Alexander's Prydain series and Juster's "The Phantom Tollbooth".  She also liked the Anastasia Krupnik books.

  5. My third grader loves Historical Fiction, and her lastest obsession is a series called "Five Smooth Stones" which detail the lives of these two little girls named Hope (the older one) and Faith (the younger one) sometime in the 1770's or so. My kids are Faith and Hope, so Faith gets a kick out of this! Our family favorites for reading together are the Anne of Green Gables series, by LM Montgomery.

  6. Junie B Jones or American Girl. I have a link below to american girl. com. They sell books on the website.

  7. My favorite at that age and my kids favorites were the Little House on the Prairie series. We also read Charlotte's Web. Both books the character is about that age.

  8. How about something from the the American Girl historical fiction series. They are fun books and educational too. Their dolls are expensive, but some places they sell paper dolls that you can get to go along as another gift. They also have American Girl doll games.

  9. my 8 year old daughter likes to read Junia B Jones books

  10. Little House on the Prairie series was always my fave. Superfudge and some other Judy Blume were good too (although she does have ones that are a little too mature for an 8 yr old). "Julie of the Wolves" was another good one.

  11. Harry Potter starts off as great reading for an 8yr old, but the later books get pretty intense, and if she's anything like my daughter, she would insist it was fine after reading the first two, and forge ahead, but really, they arent yet suitable. I really recommend both Charlottes web and Stewart Little by E.B. White though, fab stuff, and age appropriate for the advanced reader

  12. Junie B. Jones books are real cute and age appropriate, my daughter loved those books.

  13. My daughter also likes to read.  I don't know how you feel about the Harry Potter series, but those are probably a good read.  Also, the Charlie Bone series is good.

  14. Boy I loved Beverly Cleary, Judy Blume and Nancy Drew books.

  15. I really loved these Amber Brown Books when I was younger (I also was an advanced reader and loved to read and these books had things I could relate to.)

Also im an adult (19 years old) but I like these Warrior books

P.S that book about the girls Hope and Faith in the 1770's sounds like something I would read!

  16. My daughter has discovered the Tiara Club series.  There are 12 books that are about a school of princesses.  They are cute little stories.

  17. I don't know how advanced she is..but my 10 year old has just discovered Nancy Drew and she loves it!!  She reads at a 9th grade level in 4th grade.

  18. Does she know Harry Potter yet? That would be a great choice, I think... maybe the first two books in one present?

<<< sends an Enchantment Charm to fanbo ;-)

  19. what about the nancy drew books..there are many and usually young girls love the books
