  1. Looking for Alaska - John Green

About teenagers at a boarding school. Just amazing. Indescribable.

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

    Hilarious

    Devilish - Maureen Johnson

Fantasy but takes place as though it's in real life. It's funny, but has some scary parts in it as well.

I Am the Messenger - Makus Zusak

Very, very funny but serious as well.

  3. So many...

    1. Bloody Jack (My personal fave, about a young orphan girl in the early 1800's, who to keep from starving disguise's herself as a boy and joins a ship in His Majesty's Royal Navy.)

    2. How I Live Now (About 15 year old Daisy who goes to live with her cousins in England when a war breaks out and how it changes her life, somewhat sad but also really enjoyable.)

    3. Girl 15 Charming but Insane (About Jess Jordan a 15 year old girl who is... well let's face it charming, but insane. This book is really funny and you won't want to put it down!)

    4. The Boyfriend List (The story of Ruby Oliver, A girl who after a breakup goes to see a shrink where she creates the boyfriend list. I've read it several times and never get tired of it!)

    5. Twilight (If you haven't read it do so. Bella Swan 17, movies from Phoenix to Forks WA and in forks she just so happens to fall in love with a vampire.)

    6. Speak (After calling the cops at a party no one will talk to Melinda, she needs to learn to speak so people can hear her and know about the real reason she called the cops before "he" reuins another persons life.)

Artemis Fowl (Faries, Genii, Kidnapping, Bodyguards, gun's welcome to the amazing world of Artemis Fowl! I can't get enough of this book!)

  4. The two funniest non-fiction teen books I ever read are by author George Brennan, Jr.:

    Bats, Brats, and Stats

    Excellence: Sons of Xavier Forever

  5. I'm a teenage boy and I read Tom Clancy. If you like black humor you might enjoy Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle.

  6. City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare.

15 year old Clary Fray goes to a club in NYC where she sees three teens covered in tattoos with bizarre weapons kill a boy...and then the body completely disappears. Clary is then thrown into the world of the Shadowhunters, those who rid the earth of demons when she discovers her newfound Sight and her own mother is kidnapped by a demon...

This book is hilarious! The mix of humor and fantasy work well for Clare in this urban-fantasy with an incredibly original plot that will shock you. Try and keep up!

A Great and Terrible Beauty, by Libba Bray

It is Gemma Doyle's 16th birthday in Victorian India, and when she and her mother get into a fight at the marketplace, she runs away, only to have a vision of her own mother's death...

Haunted by her visions that keep coming true, Gemma is sent to England's Spence Academy for Young Ladies by her widower father, where she encounters ancient secrets, her mother's terrible secret past, and a destiny beyond her wildest imaginations.

This book will leave you awake at night and laughing out loud at Gemma's quirky perspectives.

The Mediator series, by Meg Cabot

Suze has moved to California to live with her mother and her new husband, along with thre step-brothers. However, being shipped across the country is the least of her worries, as there is a 150 year old ghost living in her bedroom...

You see, Suze is a mediator, a sort of liason between the dead and the living, made for tidying things up and helping people move on to whatever there is after this. But sometimes, things get ugly...

The books are a wonderful mixture of romance, humor, and the paranormal.

    Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen

Annabel had everything. She's a model, and popular beyond belief. Then something happens at a party that changes everything.

As Annabel copes with her anorxic sister, modeling, and her sudden status as a social outcast, she begins a friendship with Owen, the angriest boy on campus. But what happened that night, and will she ever set it right?

This book is incredible (like all of Sarah's work). Annabel is realistic and her story is far, far too common.

    Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld

Tally is 15, an Ugly. In Tally's world, you stay Ugly until age 16, where you are surgically transformed to be beyond flawless, a Pretty, with perfectly balanced and shaped features. But what else do the surgeons do?

When Tally's new friend Shay decides that she wants to stay Ugly and runs away to a camp of rebels called the Smoke, Tally is offered a horrible choice; find Shay and turn her in, or never become Pretty. Tally's choice will change the world of the Pretties forever.

This action-packed series (Uglies, then Pretties, then Specials, then Extras) will leave you breathless. So many plot twists you'll think you're riding a roller coaster instead of reading a book, you won't be able to put this series down.

  7. How to have s*x in 10 days, its a great book if you follow all 10 steps.

  8. The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen and the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray.  They both take place in the 1800's and the Gemma Doyle trilogy has more mystical and fantasy elements.  I love both series and couldn't put them down.  And of course Twilight- vampires and warewolves.

  9. "Last Chance To See" by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine is a fascinating read.  After making a fortune on his "Hitchhikers' Guide To The Galaxy" series, Adams decided to travel the world to see endangered animals in their native habitats before it was too late.  So he teamed up with Carwardine, a Conservation Officer for the World Wildlife Fund.   The result was this collection of travelogue essays that is both comical, as they butts heads with customs officials the world over, and soulful in describing some truly amazing creatures.
