Hello everyone, hope someone can help me.

Friends and I are going camping for the first time, there are 7 of us. We've left it all a bit late and finding it quite difficult to find a good place, can anyone recommend a good holiday park to go thats around the Cornwall area? Near a beach would be a huge bonus!

Have phoned a few places but everyone seems to be fully booked.

Also, does anyone recommend camping in a 'field' - we were offered a pitch on a field by a holiday park but didnt accept as we werent sure of safety etc.

Any help would be appreciated thank you!!

  1. I wouldn't reccomend camping in a isolated field, it should be a proper certified camping park because of safety reasons like you said and you don't have all the facilities you would in an actual park, like showers, toilets, play areas e.t.c e.t.c

There are loads of campsites in the Polzeath and Rock area in North Cornwall and most of them are in a easy walk or drive to lovely beaches. Especially Polzeath that's the best one and there are loads of campsites in Polzeath or nearby and it's near a town called Wadebridge which has all the shops you will probably need.

Watch Polzeath on webcam: http://www.tjssurfshop.co.uk/ - you can see how  popular it is because even on a dull day today it's fairly busy.

    Campsites to try:

    *Tristmas camping and caravan park

    *Dinham Farm camping park:

    *Gunvenna Holiday Park

There are loads more just do a search on google. I'm sure you will find somewhere with room.

  2. there is a brilliant book called Cool Camping --do check it out-it has really lovely campsites -there is a cool camping england and ones for wales and scotland.

  3. I would recommend going to an actual campsite, particularly as you will have the facilities available to you such as toilet, shower, sometimes even club room.

I have been to the following and could recommend them as good campsites with lush beaches nearby

  4. sorry cant answer your question except to say camping in a feild is not all that bad i did it when i worked cleaning up after a hurricane here in florida and have been camping many times and i will tell you it doesnt feel like the camping enviroment but its actually all around better because their is unlimited room to set up your camp, no trees no sleeping on tree roots ..... 1 thing i would say is bring some kind of tarp or something for shade because that is a downfall to camping in a feild aslo the privacy factor but you can always make a perimiter around with your cars or something, good luck

  5. woolacombe bay.Its real good fun and its like a 30 minute walk down to the beach but maybe 20.

    hope i helped.
