My dad and his crew want to go to fishing tomorrow morning. They are new to Los Angeles and California, and don't know a lot of places. Can you please suggest any good places you know for fishing [and alos somewhere to relax and barbyque] in this area? Our zipcode is 91206. Can't drive more than 50 miles. Thanks everyone.

  1. Troutdale in Malibu.

  2. I think the lake in Anaheim is the same one mentioned by the previous fellow. Either way, it's $20 per person...check out the link for more info on all the lakes.

  3. Depends on what type of fishing you want to do.

Saltwater-The piers are going to be the best and cheapest places. However, all people will need to get a fishing license.

For fresh water there are a couple of great places to go. Try Santa Ana river lakes or even Corona lakes. Both are about $18 to get in and require NO License. Corona is the better of the 2 for Trout and catfish.

  4. Catalina Island?  You have to take the Cataline Flyer over from Long Beach or San Pedro.

    Malibu Pier?

Castiac Lake (North on the 5 fwy - about an hour away) has great bass fishing.   Google it!
