Any good free audio book sites out there?

i did try google first w/o much luck

at least with public domain classics like "Plato's Republic", and "Dante's Inferno" type stuff, ?

You should definitely check out YAKiToMe! http://www.yakitome.com. Turns any electronic text into a free downloadable audio book. I'm pretty sure they have Plato's Republic. You can get any book from Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.org and convert it with YAKiToMe! Enjoy.

www.ejunto.com is producing a public domain version of The Republic.  They also have The Prince, Civil Disobedience, and other clasics for free.
