Any good gory romance fantasies out there?

I'm looking for something a little odd but interesting. I have a very fickle attentionspan that would force me to kill over if I read another Breaking Dawn sized book (not that I didn't like the book, though . . .). I love love love romances but they need action, so any suggestion would be great. Author and title please! Here are the books I've read so far,

The Complete Twilight Series

Vampire Academy

Frost Bite

Dragons Keep (I didn't like this one . . .)

Marked - Chosen

Moon Called (Just started this series)

Yeah, most of those are vampire books but I'd like to transition over to werewolf/shape-shifting books but any fantasy will do.

Thanks!

  1. The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind starts with Wizards First Rule. The epic story of Richard a War Wizard and Kahlan who a Mother Confessor.

  2. The Gemma Doyle series is FANTASTIC

If you liked Twilight you will LOVE these books

There are three of them; A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and The Sweet Far Thing.

    Highly suggested!

    :]

  3. the icemark chronicles by stuart hill

  4. Jacqueline Carey

Kushiel's Dart (this is the first in the series)

  5. Tithe by Holly Black

    Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

  6. The Mortal Instruments series By Cassandra Clare. Its meant to be a fantasy type book but inevitably theres a strong romance that develops through the book, with a BIG twist at the end which is quite sad, well not crying sad. I read these after eclipse coz i needed some more vampirish stuff and was pleasantly surprised lol. they are brilliant, read them!!!!!!! Theres 2 books out now, 3rd on the way!!!! Also try wuthering heights which is quite a dark, gothic romance

  7. I recommend the Anita Blake series, by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's got romance, action, and gore aplenty, though if you're underage be careful, because the later books turn into little more than gothic erotica. The first ones are good, though.

I've got a list of a bunch more good vampire novels (and some werewolf ones) here, including some more that I think fit what you're looking for pretty well: http://www.squidoo.com/vampiretales
